The call for projects Inspirons le quartier 2023 is launched!
The next deadline for submission of applications is midnight on 18 June 2023.
Since 2016, the Brussels Region has been supporting the initiatives of citizens' groups that contribute to improving the environment through the "Inspiring the Neighbourhood" scheme. This year marks the launch of the seventh edition of the "Inspire the Neighbourhood" call for projects, which offers citizens' collectives financial support of up to €30,000 for long-term, sustainable projects.
In six years, 365 projects have been supported by several thousand residents. These projects include collective vegetable gardens and composts, beehives, repair cafés and do-it-yourself workshops, greening projects, solidarity parcel distributions and guest tables using unsold goods, etc.
The particularity of this new edition is to adapt the objectives to make them more flexible and more in line with the needs of the citizen collectives. The ambition of this edition is to allow a neighbourhood anchoring around the citizen projects, to tend towards more inclusion and socio-economic, cultural and generational diversity in the public participating in the call as well as to introduce a greater citizen participation in the process of choice of the projects.
The proposed project must be primarily citizen-based and fit into one or more of the themes of the call for projects. The pilot group must be composed of at least five people, and the project must be developed in close collaboration with local partners and stakeholders. Projects must focus on environmental preservation to improve the community's living environment and recreate social links.
The call for projects offers financial support to citizens' collectives, ranging from €3,500 for 'quick start' projects to €15,000 or €30,000 for larger, longer-term projects. Inspirons Le Quartier also continues to offer professional support with training, networking activities, project development tools, etc.
Brussels Environment, Brussels Mobility and Net-Brussels are joining forces for the third consecutive year to offer this support to the people of Brussels in more diversified areas.
This initiative is linked to measure 45 of clean.brussels: "In the neighbourhood dynamics, the theme of "urban cleanliness" is discussed and the Brussels Environment call for projects "Inspirons le Quartier" (Let's inspire the neighbourhood) maintains a cleanliness focus.
